Internal resources as tools to increase the global competition: the Italian wine industry case

Purpose The purpose of this paper is twofold: first, it identifies distinct organizational models in a sample of small and medium enterprises operating in the Sicilian wine industry; and second, it identifies the key factors enabling a superior export success. Design/methodology/approach Internal resources were analyzed theoretically in order to achieve the aims of the study. Subsequently the empirical investigation was carried out administering a questionnaire to a sample of 102 wineries in Sicily, Italy. Microbreweries, brewpubs and beerfirms in the Sicilian craft beer industry

Purpose This paper aims to illustrate the organisational and managing models characterising the craft beer producers in Sicily (Southern Italy) and the main issues of the provision of raw materials. Design/methodology/approach A direct survey involving the overall population of 41 craft breweries operating in Sicily in 2016 was carried out. Then 29 questionnaires were collected for exploratory analysis. A hierarchical cluster analysis was also performed out to group companies by similar structural, productive and economic features. Il volume prende le mosse da un incontro on line organizzato il 28 novembre 2020 dal Gruppo SIPED Infanzia sul tema: Lo zero-sei di fronte all’emergenza COVID. In quella sede vennero proposte riflessioni particolarmente interessanti, che hanno trovato poi un approfondimento scientifico nei diversi contributi raccolti.
